Description

An extraordinary vantage point overlooking the city and the Gonzaga palaces.
An extraordinary vantage point overlooking the city and the Gonzaga palaces The bell tower of the Cathedral of Saint Peter, known as the Mantua Cathedral, dominates the historic heart of the city and offers a panoramic view of the squares, lakes and Gonzago palaces. In the Romanesque style, it is the oldest part of the building: a bell tower with a massive square plan, lightened by mullioned and triple mullioned windows, which is inserted between the late Baroque facade and the Gothic side of the cathedral. Open to the public after a major restoration, the bell tower invites visitors to discover the treasures of the Diocese of Mantua, along with the UNESCO-listed city.
