Description
The Park covers a vast area, approximately 16,000 hectares [3], including the Castellaro Lagusello Morainic Complex Nature Reserve, the Bosco Fontana Nature Reserve, the Vallazza Nature Reserve, and the Valli del Mincio Nature Reserve.
It spans from the morainic hills to the terraced plain, from the meandering area to paleochannels to the complex of lakes in Mantua.
An exceptional variety of environments, where there are also significant architectural and artistic elements, including the Sanctuary of San Maria delle Grazie, the hunting lodge of Bosco Fontana, and numerous villas from the time of the Gonzagas.
The Park's territory is crossed by the Mantova-Peschiera cycle path, which stretches for almost 40 km, most of which are on its own dedicated path with unpaved sections, running alongside the course of the Mincio river.
